Father and Son bonding time

These two make my day. When they interact with one another and being able to watch their bond grow astounds me. To watch a man become a father, when nothing physically occurs in their body, is an amazing sight. What even better is when they don't even realize that it has happened and then you show them the change. Oh be still my heart!!!

6 Months Shots

I did not get to go to his six months shots, and I am a-okay with that. Luckily for me my fiance was able to take him and deal with the torture of watching someone stab your child multiple times and then console him.

Jordan told me he did a lot better this time though. His words were that he fussed a little until they found a tooth brush with plastic over it to derail his train of thought.

Honestly I didn't know how to respond to this. All in all Gideon was happy and I didn't get upset :)

Mamaws Sink

So this chunky butt really likes his Mamaws sweet potatoes and deviled eggs. 6 months and to big for the sink.

Santa

So in all honesty I was a little nervous about him meeting Santa. I know it's pretty normal for children to cry when meeting him and it not being a good experience. So i was preparing for the worse. When it was his turn we walked up and I just held him there as the cooed at him. Then he reached out to take him I legitimately began to pray. You know what, Gideon was just curious about the old man and seemed to be alright with the whole ordeal. Thank goodness all went well.

The end product! All my worry for naught.

First Halloween!

His first time trick or treating! It was a blast. He didn't get fussy once but was falling asleep on us. So we gave him a cream soda sucker. He was not letting go of it for anything. Poor guy had sticky head to toe. When we got home he was out cold but it was bath time. Then out like a light once more :) can't wait till next year!!

Extended mom time!

Mr. Man took a 4 hour long nap today after work. I'm not complaining about it. I was able to actually get some house cleaning done at a reasonable time!! He woke are a little, played for a bit and I gave him a lavender bath fed again and he's out again.

Kindness of others

So Mr. Man has went through quite the growth spurt. I had no winter clothes for Gideon. At the rate he's it's a little rough. I am blessed though to be around some amazing people that are kind hearted. One of the parents at my work has a boy that a couple months older and ga é me a bag of pants, sleepers and this amazing onsie!!

4 MONTHS!!

Yesterday my little man turned 4 months. Time is flying by and it's needs to slow down! He has become such a hefty little man and when I look at his other photos it kills me. You don't realize how much they change in just a couple of MONTHS! I picked up a newborn and it was crazy. Now I'm trying to cuddle even more and enjoy how small his still is compared as to how big he will get.

Lock Down

We had a lock down at work today and of course 10 seconds after calling it Gideon was hungry in the other room. So I called and said they could try to give him a bottle (he's not on a bottle at all). Yeah it was a no go. So afterwards I got to sit down with him and feed him till he passed out :)

Moments to Cherish

I love breastfeeding. It builds a bond none else can have with your child and I love it when he falls asleep cuddled up to me. I wish these moments would last forever.

Breast Pads

At first I was using 100% cotton breast pads that I ordered off line. I got to pick prints and thought they were really cute. They worked at first but they were not comfortable and scrunched up. When they are washed they have to be smoothed out and air dried.

Then I tried the Lansinoh disposable:

They worked great for me and lasted quite awhile. They don't move around at first but after a couple feedings they become a little bit of a hassle and I became itchy. Also I felt a little gross after changing them.

Now I'm using washable ones by bravado and they are amazing so far. 

They are so comfortable and I don't feel them. With mesh on one side and it looks like a wash cloth on the other. I've had no nipple irritation, it's form fitting and with the four layers it absorbs it all. I've washed a pair and they don't scrunch when drying!!

Screeching and More!

So yesterday and today Gideon has shared something new with us. His horrifying screech! I do not know where it has come from but when he's tired of something or tired in general he has been making a high pitch shrilling sound  and it murders my ears.

On a brighter note he now reaches out for toys!!! So exciting to see small developments. It's incredible as to how fast they learn. He is also more mobile in his walk around toy.

He has went through a growth spurt during all of this excitement and is now in 3-6 clothes!

About Today's Fun!!

Why hello there! Today was way better than yesterday! At Daycare we had a wonderful fire drill and was able to enjoy some fresh air.

Right before class there was enough time for toy time!!

We were also able to chill with some family. 

They were talking up a storm, but my phone died so I couldn't get it. 

Also something that I was informed about was the reason he may have been so adamant about nursing while I was sick. I have a friend that is a breastfeeding counselor, she said he may have been a little sick also and that's his way of fighting it. I knew that I would produce antibodies for him when I would become sick but what I didn't realize is how he would know that he needed it. It's amazing how the natural instincts of a baby can do so much and so little at the same time.

Ew Day

Yesterday was horrible. I was so sick and miserable that my body couldn't hold in ANYTHING!! Also all Gideon wanted to do was literally nurse the entire time. No exaggeration when he wasn't latched on he was angry and squalling. I have never seen him act like that. So instead of hugging a pillow in fetal position I pulled on mom britches and curled with him while he nursed. Even if it was uncomfortable for me, I then realized what they meant when mom cant get sick. I'm so glad Jordan was there to assist me when he was able to!

Tuesday Catch Up

Was quite the chatter bug at first.

Then a little grumpy but after a nap everything was better. It was an average day.

Pooped Out

After a long day of so many new things this little guy was out quick :) He amazes me every day with all he learns and I am ready to show him what the world offers.

Lion's Fall Festival

Today was a very relaxed day. Woke up with Gideon and while I made breakfast he checked out another new toy I dragged out of the basement. 

We went to the Lion's Fall Festival with the Schultz afterwards and enjoyed looking at "One man's trash and another man's treasure!" Gideon did amazingly well in the stroller. When we were done so was he.

It was time to eat and he seemed content with his little book that crinkles. I got to eat warm food!!!

Shared Dinner

Had a spectacular dinner with wonderful people. Bought some fresh produce and they provided the main course. While making dinner Gideon got some special  bonding time!!

After dinner he was out. Such an exhausting life! :)

 

 

Off Day

So last night he was not a happy camper. Today was a little better. He played on his play mat and moved around in a new toy today!
